What is program structure of M.Sc. (IT)?

The M.Sc. (IT) Program follows a full time four-semester pattern and the curriculum consists of three semesters of course work followed by a one-semester project work on a specified topic. There is also a summer internship of duration of four weeks that students need to take up after the second semester and before the start of third semester.

What is selection criteria for M.Sc. (IT)?

The candidates are selected through an entrance test to be conducted at selected centers all over the country. NOTE: In view of the emerging pandemic situation of the COVID-19, if conditions are not favorable an online proctored test will be administered in place of the computer based test. The candidates will be informed well in advance.

Is there any management quota in M.Sc. (IT) Program?

No. Admission to M.Sc. (IT) program is completely based on merit list.

Is hostel facility available in DA-IICT for the M.Sc. (IT) Program?

All girls admitted to the M.Sc. program will be eligible for on-campus hostel accommodation., For boys, it is subject to availability.

What is the job prospects after completion of M.Sc. (IT) from DA-IICT?

After the completion of M.Sc. in Information Technology from DA-IICT, you can aspire to become a software engineer, a system architect, a system analyst in the industry, or can pursue higher studies in India or abroad, or can be a prospective academician in educational institutions. DA-IICT also provides placement services.

Is there any scholarship facility available to M.Sc. (IT) students?

There is no scholarship offered by the Institute. However, the institute helps students to get scholarship from other agencies (including state/central Govt.) by providing necessary documents.

My final year result is not declared..can I apply?

Such candidates can apply.  However, the final admission will be subject to meeting the announced eligiblity criteria. In case the candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria, his/her admission is liable to be cancelled.

I have no programming proficiency.  Can I get admission into the M.Sc. (IT) program?

Knowledge of basic programming in C is required.  It will also be tested in the entrance exam.

Is the M.Sc degree recognized by government institutes/organizations?

DA-IICT is included in the list of Universities maintained by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956. Hence all the degrees awarded by DA-IICT are recognized by the Central/State Govt. and other agencies.

Can I do M.Sc. (IT) in part time?

No.

What is the refund/cancellation policy? 

The refund policy for the withdrawing candidates will be in accordance with the UGC/AICTE rules.

Educational Loan Available?

The Institute will facilitate the students to avail educational loan from the Banks of their choice in completing the loan documentation process by issuig various documents like, fees structure, bonafide certificate etc.

Which amount I have to pay at the time of admission in M.Sc. (IT)?

At the time of admission an amount of Rs. 1,05,000/- (Rs. 85,000/- towards Tuition Fee for the First Semester and Rs. 20,000/- towards a Caution Deposit) – The registration fee is payable at the time of registration and hostel rent on allotment of the hostel room.

What is caution deposit amount for M.Sc. (IT)?

Rs. 20,000/- (Refundable at the end of the program)

Is BCA student eligible for admission in Data science? Can I appear in both entrance- M.Sc. (IT) and M.Sc. (Data Science)?

Yes, the candidate can apply for both the programs, however, he has to submit two separate applications for both the programs.

What is entrance exam pattern?

The test will evaluate the candidates on their mathematical aptitude, logical reasoning, basic programming, English Comprehension.

Is there negative marking in M.Sc. (IT)?

Negative Marking: There will be negative marking, However, there will be no section wise cutoffs.

What is the eligibility criteria for M.Sc. (IT)?

A Bachelor’s degree holder from a recognized University in any stream with an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting institute/university, in the qualifying degree examination is eligible to apply. Candidates appearing in their final Degree examination and expecting to complete it by July 2021 may also apply. However, their final admission will be subject to the condition that they obtain an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting institute/university. All admitted candidates have to submit their degree certificates or proof of completion of Degree, before 30th October 2021 failing which their admission is liable to cancellation.

The decision of the concerned authorities of DA-IICT regarding eligibility of any candidate shall be final.

Can Final year student apply for M.Sc. (IT)?

Candidates appearing in their final Degree examination and expecting to complete it by July 2021 may also apply. However, their final admission will be subject to the condition that they obtain an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting institute/university. Currently I am in 6th semester of B.Sc IT(Exam and result both are remaining for 6th semester) and the results of 5th semester are yet to be come so should i wait till the 5th semester result come or i can provide my 4th semester results? (As in general instruction it is writtern that “If your final examination results are not declared, provide the expected date of result and latest results”).

You can provide your 4th semester result information for now. However, The final admission will be subject to the condition that they obtain an aggregate of 60% marks, or its equivalent as per the norms set by the degree granting institute/ university. Do you charge for electricity for hostel students?

Yes, apart from Hostel fees, the electricity charges will be payable

Tentative entrance exam dates for MSc IT and MSc Data Science is same. If I am applying for both the courses, how will the exam be conducted?

Yes, you can apply. Entrance exam will be on same date. But time slots will be different.
